Science Experiments
Science
Here's a peek at some of our experiments on the five senses. We're doing more this week. We'll go visit the 5th grade Science Fair on Thursday afternoon so we can see all the interesting experiments the older students conducted.

St. Patrick's Day
Sorry there are no videos or pictures from St. Patrick's Day. I did the unthinkable and left all of my cameras at home! Even though we don't have the pictures to remember it, we did have a good Irish time. The children made little peanut leprechaun necklaces. They sorted and graphed the marshmallows in Lucky Charms. We ordered leprechauns by listening to directions. The kids made Irish scones for snack (very tasty). We also watched a short video on Ireland and Irish-American heritage. Several of the kids got up to "demonstrate" Irish dancing. It was very cute. A little leprechaun (Mrs. Davis) supplied our class with Leprechaun Fizz. That's an interesting chemical reaction, add sherbet to Sprite and it really fizzes (not quite the reaction of Mentos in Diet Coke, but still pretty cool).
One thing we didn't do was look for Lucky the Leprechaun around the school, as was predicted in the homework calendar, oops! Speaking of another mistake on the homework calendar, we won't be making kites this week, it's still a little too cold for that fun.
