American History and our Patriotic Holidays

We will explore the meaning behind the patriotic holidays as they approach in the calendar. Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, and Flag Day.

Friends, Families, and Feelings

Becoming friends, learning about each other, and respecting each others' feelings is our primary focus in Kindergarten.

Community Helpers

The third component of Kindergarten social studies is learning about community helpers and how we all work together to make our society run. The students will learn about the Police Department, The Fire Department, The U.S. Postal Service, Farmers, Doctors, Dentists, and School Personnel.
